Bob Swisher was a four-year letterwinner and three-year captain of the men's basketball program that included a College Athletic Conference title in 1966. After defeating Washington and Lee and Washington-St. Louis to win the championship, Swisher was named to the All-Tournament Team.Â
Leading the team in scoring that season with 17.4 points per game, Swisher posted a field goal percentage of 50.4% in his senior campaign.Â
For his career, he dropped 1,193 points, good for 18th all-time in program history and second at the end of the 1960s.Â
Other highlights include averaging double-digit points per game in each season, and he led the team twice in the category. Additionally, during his junior campaign in 1964-65, the team defeated the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) twice in the same season. The Tigers defeated the Rebels on the Domain, 74 to 62 on Dec. 12, and five days later in Oxford, Sewanee edged out the road win, 46 to 44.Â
