Bob Davis played both as an offensive and defensive endfor the Tigers from 1960-1963. As a captain on the 1963 team, Davisled Sewanee to a perfect 8-0 record. That season, the Tigersoutscored their opponents 275-45 and had shutout victories overMillsaps, Hampden-Sydney, Randolph-Macon, and Southwestern(Rhodes). In 1963, Davis was selected as an all-conference player.A leader on and off the field, Davis would often play the entiregame. Professionally, Davis became a renowned surgeon and medicaleducator at the Cabrini Medical Center. In 1994, the Robert P.Davis Memorial Scholarship was established at the University of theSouth in his honor.
