Interviews
- All interviews should be coordinated through the Office of Athletic Communications. Please allow 24 hours notice for all interviews.
- Postgame interviews are coordinated following the event; please tell a Sewanee staff member who you wish to interview.
- Please note, all postgame interviews must be conducted after a 10-minute cool down period from the final whistle, per NCAA guidelines.
Photography
- The Sewanee Office of Athletic Communications requires that you obtain a sideline pass in order to shoot any athletic event held at the institution. Please contact the Office of Athletic Communications at least 48 hours in advance to reserve a sideline pass.
Television, Web Streaming and Radio
- If you wish to provide television, live streaming or radio coverage of an athletic event at the University of the South, please contact the Office of Athletic Communications at least ONE WEEK prior to the event.
- All events produced on campus at the University of the South are free of charge, and fans can view events here.
Name Usage
All athletic teams are referred to as the Sewanee Tigers. When referencing to our university, please use, the University of the South. Please note that "the" is not capitalized unless it is the first word in a sentence.
EXAMPLES:
- FULL UNIVERSITY NAME
- At the 2022 Southern Athletic Association Tournament Championship, the University of the South knocked off The University on Sunday.
- SHORT NAMES
- Sewanee and Team will play on Sunday afternoon for the SAA Tournament Championship.
- MASCOT NAMES
- The Tigers will take on the mascot Sunday afternoon for the SAA Tournament Championship.
Please do NOT use: Sewanee: The University of the South – The University of Sewanee – Sewanee University – South
ABBREVIATIONS: In cases where Sewanee needs to be abbreviated, please use SEW and not SC, SU, US, UofS or UOS. This includes the use of our name in box scores, scoreboards and web-streaming platforms.
NICKNAME: Our official nickname is the Tigers. No team is permissible to be called the Lady Tigers or Tigerettes.

Our primary colors are Purple and White. Vegas Gold may be used only as an accent color. The following formulas will reproduce consistent colors in most applications.
