2009 Women's Lacrosse: Sewanee Slams Dallas

DALLAS, Texas – Sewanee played women's lacrosse at the University of Dallas on Tuesday and after leading 14-3 at the half, finished off the host Crusaders 17-5. Eleven Tigers scored in the game.

Sewanee won 15 of 23 draw controls in the contest. Amy Nusbaum (Norfolk, Va., Norfolk Academy) had 10 saves in goal to anchor the Sewanee defense. On offense, Carly Grimm (South Salem, N.Y., John Jay) had two goals and three assists for the Tigers, Catherine Sanders (Peachtree City, Ga., Starr's Mill)had two goals and two assists and Meg Welton (Germantown, Tenn., Houston) and Mary Grace Bowring (Lexington, Va., Rockbridge County) each had two goals and an assist. Glory Beveridge (Nashville. Tenn., Harpeth Hall) and Steffi Renninger (Darnestown, Md., Sidwell Friends) each scored two goals, also.

Sewanee hits .500 with the win and is 2-2 so far. The Tigers will face Goucher tomorrow.
