Baseball picked eighth in preseason poll

SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Southern Athletic Association (SAA) released the 2026 baseball preseason poll, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday morning. The Tigers were picked to finish eighth in the poll conducted among the SAA's eight head coaches.

Trinity topped the poll with seven first-place finishes and 56 points, followed by Centre with 50 points and one first-place vote. Rhodes (38), Very (37), and Millsaps (34) rounded out the top five.

After a run in the DIII College World Series last season, Trinity looks to continue their success in the SAA, returning Region X Rookie of the year, along with two other All-Region selections. The Colonels hold a preseason All-American and come off an NCAA run ending against No. 18 Case Western Reserve.

Sewanee returns three all-conference players in three second-team members, Charlie Teel, Zach Fortman, and honorable mention honoree, Aidan Petrocco

The 2026 SAA Baseball Championships are slated for May 7-10 in Rome, Ga., at the Advent Health Stadium.
