Men's Golf selected first in SAA Preseason Poll

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee's men's golf team was selected as the preseason favorite for the Southern Athletic Association title, as announced by the conference office on Thursday morning.

The Tigers earned five first-place votes and 54 points, followed by Oglethorpe with three first-place votes and 51 points. Southwestern was picked third with 42 points, and Trinity and Berry rounded out the top five with 39 and 33 points, respectively.

Sewanee earns the top spot after a stellar fall season, which included a week as the top Division III program and ended the season ranked sixth in the country. Sewanee returns Elias Becker, who earned co-athlete of the week honors this fall, along with Turner Chiles, who placed sixth overall at the NCAA Preview.

Voting was conducted among the SAA's eight head coaches.

The 2026 Men's Golf Championship is slated for April 23-26 in Dickson, Tenn., at the Greystone Country Club.
