IHSA takes fourth at Zone Championships

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Emma Sameth qualified for the Cacchione cup and Sewanee's IHSA team placed fourth at Zone Regionals on Saturday in Savannah, Ga.

In team classes, Sameth took second in open flat and third in open fences. Isabella Janovsky took home third in intermediate flat while Claire Dillard placed fifth in intermediate fences. In the limit division, Elise Gierhart took home third in both fences and flat. Tony Calderon Gonzalez took home fifth in the novice division while Abdul Maflahi placed third in the introductory division.

Individually, Sameth took home third in open flat and first in open fences, qualifying for the Cacchione cup and Nationals. Janovsky placed fifth in intermediate fences and Dillard placed 10th in the limit flat, and Hannah Fitzgerald took home fifth in the introductory flat division.
