Carter, Sameth named High Point Riders, Tigers remain undefeated in Regional competition

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee's IHSA Equestrian finished as High Point Team, and Lily Carter and Emma Sameth tied for High Point Riders on the first day of the double-header on Friday at the Howell Equestrian Center.

Sameth won her class as she was first in both open fences and open flat, and Carter won her class, coming in first in intermediate fences and first in limit flat.

Olivia Carmouche collected a third-place finish in open fences, followed by Isabella Fioretti in fourth. In the open flat, Kelly Baumgart helped the Tigers to a one-two finish, coming in second.

In intermediate fences, Carter was first, while Fioretti earned a third-place finish.

In limit flat, Carter was first, followed by Maeve Raible and Bailey Pezzella, who tied for third. In limit fences, Raible added another third-place finish, while Isabelle Gentle collected a sixth-place showing.

Abdul Maflahi was fourth in the novice division, while Hanna Fitzgerald finished second in Pre-Novice.

The Tigers added another first-place finish in the introductory division, as Isabela Cancado won her division.

Sewanee hosts day two of competition tomorrow with a 10 a.m. start and will look to remain undefeated in the region going into their final day of competition.
