McConnell, White garner First Team All-SAA honors for men's soccer

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee junior Stokes McConnell and sophomore Grayson White were voted First Team All-SAA while senior Tyler Scott and sophomore Isaac Rasheed garnered Second Team recognition, as announced Tuesday by the conference office.

In addition, sophomore Noah Bjorkman and freshmen Jonah Cooker, Kennedy Edward and Brady Lloyd earned Honorable Mention accolades.

McConnell netted nine goals with two assists while starting 12 of the team's 19 matches this season. The Sullivan's Island, S.C., native recorded five goals in league play, including both goals in a 2-1 win over Millsaps College as well as a two-goal effort earlier in the year versus Talladega College. McConnell scored in three consecutive SAA outings against Trinity University, Oglethorpe University and Berry College. He earned Honorable Mention accolades as a freshman.

White led the Tigers with 10 goals and added three assists in 17 matches with 15 starts. The Columbia, S.C., native netted nine goals in the first eight outings of the year, including a hat trick against Maryville College and two goals versus Johns Hopkins and William Peace.

Scott registered four goals and two assists in 14 matches while playing in the midfield for the first half of the season. The Charlotte, N.C., native tallied two goals against Talladega and one versus Johns Hopkins and Southern Virginia. He missed five matches because of injury and has played on the backline over the last three weeks. It marked the fourth straight All-SAA honor for Scott, who garnered First Team accolades as a sophomore and junior and Second Team selection as a freshman.

Rasheed collected five goals and four assists (tied for the team lead with Alpha Bah and Wells Durham). The Mount Pleasant, S.C., native recorded a goal and an assist versus Covenant College and Berry and also scored against Johns Hopkins and Oglethorpe. He was a Second Team All-SAA selection last season as well.

Kennedy and Cooker led a backline that allowed 1.05 goals per match with 11 shutouts. The Tigers gave up nine goals in seven conference matches, with five of those in one outing. Bjorkman collected three goals and two assists while starting all 19 matches and Lloyd stated 18 times in the midfield, picking up two goals and one assist.
