Field hockey facing Centre in CFHC quarterfinals

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee field hockey earned the No. 4 seed and will play Centre College in the quarterfinals of the CFHC Championships this Thursday at 11 a.m. CT in Fond du Lac, Wis., as announced by the conference office Monday.
 
The Tigers posted an 8-8 overall record, 2-3 in the CFHC this season. Sewanee posted a 3-0 victory over the Colonels in Danville, Ky., on October 18. The Tigers lost to the top three teams in the league – Rhodes College, Mary Washington and Marian University [WI] and defeated Centre and Concordia-Wisconsin in league action.
 
Since the 2015 season, Sewanee has registered a 5-8 record in the conference tournament, with first-round victories in 2016, 2017, 2019, 2021 and 2024. The Tigers defeated Marian, 4-1, in the quarterfinals last season before falling in overtime to Rhodes in the semifinals.
