SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee men's golf is ranked fifth while seniors
Colin Edwards and
Elias Becker and sophomore
Turner Chiles all rank in the Top 50 individually in the first Scoreboard Powered by Clippd rankings released this week.
The Tigers won the Gate City Invitational in Greensboro, N.C., to open the fall schedule and finished 11
th at the NCAA Fall Preview in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla., the following week. Sewanee pulled out of the team portion of the Tartan Invitational this week because of sickness on the club, but the five individuals played well enough for the squad to post the seventh-best score if the scores were counted.
Edwards ranks 34
th nationally while Chiles comes in at No. 38 and Becker is ranked 42
nd.
Edwards tied for fifth at the Gate City and tied for 19
th at the Tartan and has played 8-of-9 rounds at 75 or better this fall. Chiles tied for sixth at the NCAA Preview thanks to a pair of 69's and tied for 29
th at the Tartan. Becker tied for first individually at the Gate City, finishing at six-under par over 54 holes.
Sewanee finishes the fall campaign October 26-27 at the O'Briant Jensen Memorial in Greensboro, N.C.
