Abdul Maflahi placed fourth in the Team Introductory Division

Equestrian IHSA takes 5th in Zone 5 Championships

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Emma Sameth won the Reserve Champion in the individual Open Flat, as Sewanee's Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) Equestrian team took home fifth in the IHSA Zone 5 Championships on Saturday morning in Savannah, Ga. 

Sameth also placed fourth for the team in Open Fences and placed fifth individually. Her placing in the individual Open Flat qualified her for the national championships in May.

In the Individual Intermediate Flat, Nell Grady placed fifth overall and also placed fifth in the team Open Flat. In Individual Intermediate Fences, Grady placed ninth. 

Mollie McWhorter placed fourth for the Tigers in both the team Intermediate Fences and Flat divisions. 

In the team Limit Fences, Laura Ann Moore took home bronze for Sewanee. In the team Limit Flat, Moore placed fourth. 

In the team Novice Flat division, Bailey Pezzella placed fifth, and in the team Introductory division, Abdul Maflahi placed fourth.
