Box Score GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Sewanee women's lacrosse team saw its first loss of the 2020 season with a 21-9 defeat by the Quakers of Guilford College Sunday afternoon from the Armfield Athletic Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Sewanee kept pace with the home team early in the contest. After Sarah Strand scored 26 seconds into the game, the Quakers netted six of the next eight goals to lead 6-3 with 19:38 left in the half.
-The Tigers were able to get the deficit down to two goals twice in the first half, but leading 9-7 with less than three minutes left in the half, the Quakers scored the final three goals of the half to lead 12-7 at the break.
-Guilford poured it on in the second half, scoring six of the first seven goals of the half to put the game out of reach, 18-8, with less than 15 minutes remaining.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Hattie Fogarty posted five goals on six shots, adding five draws and two caused turnovers.
-Sarah Strand won seven draw controls and added four points on three goals and an assist.
-Amanda Jenkins (3-1) stopped 12 shots in 30 minutes.
GUILFORD KEY STATISTICS
-Nia Gill, Abigail Horchar and Alli Earwood each scored four goals in the win, while Madison Iandoli notched seven points on four assists and three goals. Additionally, Iandoli won 11 of the team's 17 draw controls.
-Kersten Daneau (3-0) saved 10 shots in full time for the Quakers.
