Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Redlands Bulldogs handed the Sewanee women's lacrosse team its first loss of the 2019 season with a 13-9 defeat Tuesday afternoon inside Puett Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Bulldogs saw themselves leading 3-0 ten minutes into the contest.
-After Sewanee cut the deficit to 4-2 thanks to a Mallory Bedell free position shot with 16:36 left in the opening half, the visitors scored four straight goals to lead 8-2 at the break.
-The Tigers outscored the Bulldogs 7-5 in the second half, and trailing 12-4 with 13 minutes to go, Sewanee scored three straight, two by Sarah Strand, to help cut the deficit to 12-7 with 6:51 to go.
-Sewanee added two goals late to get the deficit back to four, but that would be as close as the team would get.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Sarah Strand recorded a hat trick on four total shots. On the defensive side of the ball, the sophomore won seven draw controls, four coming in the second half.
-Grace Zechman added two assists, while Anna Comer won four draws and forced four turnovers.
-Brianna Young (3-1) saved seven shots in 30 minutes of action in between the pipes.
REDLANDS KEY STATISTICS
-Sadie Pickering posted four goals and scooped up three ground balls.
-Joren Fettig scored three times and won nine of the team's 12 draw controls.
-Annie Van Norstrand (2-3) saved nine shots in full time.
