Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Sewanee women's lacrosse could not bounce back from an 8-2 halftime deficit, as the Stevens Institute of Technology Ducks defeated the Tigers, 10-8, Saturday afternoon inside Puett Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Ducks posted a 3-0 lead 10 minutes in the contest, and the lead 7-1 with 6:10 left in the opening half.
-Trailing 8-2 at intermission, Sewanee attempted to rally past the Empire 8 Regular Season Champions a season ago. The Tigers scored three times in nearly a four-minute span to cut the deficit to 8-5 with 22:25 to go.
-However, the Ducks put the contest out of reach with two man-up goals thanks to penalties by Sewanee.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Kelly Thomsen and Hadley Meadows each netted two goals for Sewanee.
-Sarah Strand won five draw controls, while Logan Bulls scooped up four ground balls and forced three turnovers.
-Amanda Jenkins (3-1) saved seven shots in the first half, but Caroline Roncalli allowed two goals in the second half, saving four shots.
STEVENS KEY STATISTICS
-Emily Shanklin led the Ducks with four goals and six draws.
-Peyton Taylor (1-2) saved five shots in full time between the pipes.
