HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Cardinals struck in between the pipes 41 seconds into the contest, but it was Sewanee, who scored four goals in the next nine minutes, two by Catherine Crigler.
-The Tigers would push the lead to 12-4 at the half. Crigler recorded the final two goals, with one coming on a free position.
-Despite the Cardinals pushing the deficit to 14-8 with 17:17 left in the contest, the Tigers put the game away with four straight goals and held the visitors scoreless for the rest of the contest.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Catherine Crigler led Sewanee with six goals on nine shots. She scored five in the first half
-Kelly Thomsen scored five points with four goals and an assist, while Sarah Strand and Hattie Fogarty added two goals and an assist each.
-Anna Comer won eight draw controls, while Strand fought off the opposition for six draws and scooped up four ground balls.
-Fogarty and Logan Bulls each collected six ground balls.
-Amanda Jenkins (3-0) saved four shots in the first half.
