Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Sewanee women's lacrosse team dropped a 16-12 decision to the Bears of Ursinus Wednesday afternoon at Puett Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Bears got out to a 6-1 lead in the first 11:09 of the contest, including five straight goals after Sewanee's Brooke Winfield evened the score at a goal apiece.
-Sewanee was able to fight back late in the first half to cut the deficit to three goals, 9-6, after 30 minutes of play.
-In the second half, the Bears came out strong on offense once again, scoring six straight goals in the first 11 minutes to seal the contest.
-Trailing 15-6 with 18:51 to go, Sewanee attempted to make a contest out of it, scoring six of the final seven goals of the game.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Sarah Strand led the Tigers with four goals on eight shots. The sophomore also won two draws.
-Hattie Fogarty scooped up six ground balls, and she also forced two turnovers.
-Anna Comer assisted on three shots on offense, and she was a presence on defense as well. The senior won three draws, forced three turnovers and collected three ground balls.
-Brianna Young (4-3) suffered the loss.
URSINUS KEY STATISTICS
-Bridget Sherry recorded eight points on the day, scoring six goals and assisting on two. She also won five draw controls.
-Kaci McNeave added four goals and assists each.
-Kaitlyn France (1-4) saved nine shots for the Bears in full time.

The Tigers will next play Friday at home against North Central, continuing their season-long 11-game homestand.
