Box Score 2 BIRMINGHAM, Ala. / MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Sewanee women's lacrosse team saw much of the State of Alabama on Sunday, but at their two destinations of Birmingham and Montgomery, the Tigers outscored their opponents 36-12 with an 18-10 win over Birmingham-Southern and an 18-2 victory over Huntingdon.

HOW IT HAPPENED, BIRMINGHAM-SOUTHERN
-After a shutout on Saturday, BSC scored the first goal on the Sewanee defense in 2019 almost two minutes in the contest.
-3:01 into the contest, Sewanee reclaimed the lead and never looked back. The Tigers scored three goals, all assisted by Grace Zechman, in a five-minute span.
-BSC made it a one-goal affair, 3-2, with 21:23 left in the half, but the Tigers answered with an 11-2 run in the final 20 minutes to lead 14-4 at the break en route to an 18-10 victory.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Sarah Strand, Brooke Winfield and Hattie Fogarty each recorded a hat trick for Sewanee against BSC.
-Grace Zechman assisted on seven of the team's 18 goals.
-Grace Fulton scooped up nine ground balls, won eight draws and forced four turnovers.
-Amanda Jenkins (1-0) saved five shots in 23:31 in between the pipes.
BIRMINGHAM-SOUTHERN KEY STATISTICS
-Mari Clair Harmon, Jade Cox and Katie Gleeson each scored three goals for BSC.
-Alexus Howard (0-2) saved eight shots in full time.
HOW IT HAPPENED, HUNTINGDON
-In the second game in the second city, the Tigers and Hawks were even with 26:47 left in the opening half, but the Tigers offense posted an 11-1 run at the break.
-Sewanee saw 13 players score in the contest, as the team wrapped up the three-city, two-day trip outscoring the opposition 55-12.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Mary Kate Myers scored four goals on five shots.
-Anna Day and Grace Zechman each scored two goals for the Tigers, while Grace Fulton won six draws.
-The Sewanee quartet of goalkeepers, Caroline Roncalli (1-0), Brianna Young, Amanda Jenkins and Molly Morris limited the Hawks to five shots.
HUNTINGDON KEY STATISTICS
-Savannah Ryan and Keirstin Cramer each scored for Huntingdon.
-Morgan Coppini (0-3) saved six shots.

The Tigers will wrap up the season-opening road swing with a trip to Minneapolis with a contest at Augsburg on Saturday.
