DICKSON, Tenn. - The 22nd-ranked Sewanee men's golf team survived the rain and wind with a 299 final round to secure a tie for second place at the 2018 Southern Athletic Association Men's Golf Championships on Sunday.

TOP PERFORMANCES
-Entering the final round one stroke behind the lead, Gray Matthews had the opportunity to take the lead in the final 18 holes. Through nine, Matthews fired two birdies for a two-under, 34 to take the lead at one-over.
-After paring his first six holes on the back-nine, he bogey on 16 to have a one-stroke lead. However, a double bogey on 18 pushed him two strokes behind medalist winner Corrie Kuehn at Rhodes to finish in a tie for third with Alec Davis of Rhodes with a four-over, 220 tournament.
-Tommy Oliver fired a 76 final round to finish in a tie for sixth with a 223.
-Taylor Mottern stroked a 77 score to earn a 226 tournament for a tie for 11th.
-George Hite and Nick Powell each scored a 231, and Nic Vandeventer totaled a 246 score during the 54-hole tournament.
-Rhodes took home the team championship with a 20-stroke differential.
