DICKSON, Tenn. - The 22nd-ranked Sewanee men's golf team opened play at the 2018 Southern Athletic Association Championships on Friday, as the Tigers finished third after the first round.

TOP PERFORMANCES
-Gray Matthews led for the Tigers after the opening round on Friday with a one-over, 73, to finish in a tie for sixth, three strokes behind Jacob Arnett of Oglethorpe.
-Tommy Oliver and Taylor Mottern each fired a 74 to finish in a tie for eighth.
-George Hite and Nick Powell finished one stroke behind Oliver and Mottern with a 75, tied for 14th.
-Nic Vandeventer rounds out the scoring with an 82.
