Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. (April 10, 2016) – The Sewanee women's lacrosse team pulled away from visiting Huntingdon, Sunday, for a 19-6 win at Puett Field.
After Huntingdon opened with a goal by Briana Gress, Sewanee answered back with three straight goals from Katie Riddle, Relly King, and Alden Woolford.
After the Hawks scored again, Sewanee outscored Huntingdon 5-3 to end the opening 30 minutes. During that stretch, Hannah Tompkins, King, Kit Sommi, Brooke Winfield, and Riddle all fired in shots.
In the second half, Sewanee continued to roll. Kelly Thomsen, Anna Comer, Meredith Sackett, King, Riddle, Catherine Crigler, Bridget McConville, and Tariro Kandemiri helped the Tigers outscore the Hawks 11-2 in the second half.
Overall, Sewanee outshot Huntingdon 32-23. The Tigers also won 17 out of 27 draws.
In goal, Crawford Horan earned the win after she stopped 11 shots.
Individually, Riddle, Comer, and King each led the offense with three goals. Crigler also finished with two goals while Woolford had a goal and two assists.
Sewanee returns to action with a 1:00 p.m., contest against Birmingham-Southern next Saturday.
