Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. (April 25, 2015) – The Sewanee women's lacrosse team rolled to its third straight Southern Athletic Association (SAA) final, Saturday, with an impressive 18-8 semifinal win over Millsaps at Puett Field.
The Tigers are now 17-0 this season and will play in Sunday's noon championship match.
After an early goal by the Majors, Sewanee answered back with four straight scores. Wittney Reed, Mallory Grimm, and Sally Anne Greenwood all found the back of the net during that stretch.
After Millsaps pulled to within one goal, 4-3, the Tigers responded again. Katie Riddle sparked a 14-1 run by the Tigers to close the half. Along with Riddle, Greenwood, Grimm, Molly Elkins, Kit Sommi, and Brita Brudvig all scored.
Overall, Riddle and Greenwood led the attack with four goals each. Grimm and Reed each added three while Sommi finished with two.
On defense, Greenwood finished with nine draws Dori Wilson led the backline with five caused turnovers and five groundballs.
Katie Iskra led Millsaps with three goals and two groundballs.
