Box Score CONWAY, Ark. (Feb. 28, 2015) – Behind 14 first-half goals, the Sewanee women's lacrosse team hammered Southern Athletic Association (SAA) foe Hendrix, 18-7, Saturday, at Warrior Field.
Sewanee built a 5-0 lead before the Warriors ever scored. Even after Hendrix cut the Sewanee advantage to 5-3, the Tigers roared back. Sewanee scored nine of the next 10 goals to lead 14-4 by halftime.
The Tigers also added four additional goals in the final 30 minutes.
Overall, Sewanee outshot the Warriors 34-23. Individually, Sally Anne Greenwood led the attack with five goals on six shots. Greenwood also added three draw controls.
Along with Greenwood, Relly King was strong on the attack with three goals and one assist. King also had two groundballs and three draw controls.
Additionally Katie Riddle, Ellie Murphy, and Wittney Reed all scored twice while Molly Elkins, Alden Woolford, and Mallory Grimm added one goal each.
Between the pipes, Crawford Horan stayed unbeaten this season with a 11 saves.
Bridget Umble led Hendrix with three goals on seven shots.
Sewanee returns to action with a noon match against Carthage next Sunday at Puett Field.
