Tigers fall at Redlands, 21-7

REDLANDS, Calif. (March 20, 2014) – A huge first half helped Redlands defeat the Sewanee women's lacrosse team, 21-7, Thursday evening at Farquhar Field.

After Redlands opened the match with a goal, Sewanee stormed back with a score from Sally Anne Greenwood four minutes later.

Unfortunately, over the next 15 minutes, Redlands netted 10 straight goals to take a commanding lead.

The Tigers did fight back late in the first half as Greenwood, Reed, and Ella Richardson pulled Sewanee to within eight, 12-4, at halftime.

In the second half, things stayed the same. Redlands would stretch its lead out to as much as 14. Sewanee did have goals in the final 30 minutes by Greenwood and Mallory Grimm.

Overall, Redlands finished with advantage in draw controls and shots. Sewanee was also undone by 26 turnovers and an 8-for-18 effort in clear attempts.

Individually, Greenwood led the attack with four goals on seven shots.

Sewanee continues its five-match road trip with a noon (EST) match against Oglethorpe, Saturday.
