Strong offense powers Wooster past Sewanee

WOOSTER, Ohio (April 7, 2013) – A strong offense lifted regional power Wooster past the Sewanee women's lacrosse team, 21-9, Sunday at John P. Papp Stadium.

Behind its best offensive performance of the season, the Fighting Scots scored 12 goals in the first half and another nine scores in the second.

The Tigers were led by Molly Arnold, Olivia Vietor, and Ellie Murphy, who each scored two goals. Mallory Grimm, Sally Anne Greenwood, Chelsea Staunton each found the back of the net once.

Despite forcing more turnovers, Sewanee was held in check by the strong play of Wooster keeper Isabel Perman who finished with a match-high 11 saves.

After a pair of tough road contests, Sewanee will close out the Southern Athletic Association regular season with a noon contest at Birmingham-Southern next Saturday.
