Box Score GREENSBORO, N.C. (Feb. 16, 2013) – An early eight-goal lead helped Guilford past the Sewanee women's lacrosse team, 18-5, Saturday at the Armfield Athletic Center.
After the barrage of scores by Guilford, Sewanee finally scored with 13:21 left in the first half.
After two more goals by Guilford, sophomore Ellie Murphy netted her first goal of the season with 10:28 until halftime.
Sewanee would pull to within eight, 11-3, when freshman Wittney Reed scored four minutes later.
In the second half, the Tigers added goals by Reed and senior Molly Arnold.
Individually, Reed led the offensive attack with two goals on five shots.
Additionally, Grimm, along with freshman Alexis Crittenden, finished with four shots each.
Attacker E'leyna Garcia led Guilford with a game-high six goals and two assists.
The Tigers will quickly return to action at Greensboro, Sunday. Draw control is scheduled for noon (EST).
