Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. (Feb. 17, 2012) – The Sewanee baseball and women's lacrosse teams will open their 2012 seasons, Saturday. The Tiger baseball team will play a doubleheader against Johnson University at Montgomery Field starting at noon. Meanwhile, the Tiger women's lacrosse team will take on Augustana College at 2:00 p.m. on the University IM fields.
Head coach Scott Baker's club opens its 2012 campaign with a number of new faces. After losing four-time All-SCAC performer Taylor Irwin, the Tigers are looking to improve with 22 newcomers.
On the lacrosse pitch, the Tigers return a host all-conference selections in Meg Welton, Sarah Squire, and Molly Arnold. The defending SCAC Champions were originally scheduled to open this season at McGee Field at Harris Stadium, however field conditions were unplayable at this time. The IM fields are located next to the Tigers' field hockey field.
