Box Score DANVILLE, Ky. (Nov 2, 2012) – The Sewanee women's soccer team closed out its season with a 2-1 loss against Millsaps, Friday, during opening round action of the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Women's Soccer Championships.
With the defeat, the Tigers finish 2012 with an 8-10 overall record. Additionally, Friday marked the final contest for seniors Caitlin Sneeden, Sam Hutton, and Bess Goodman.
In the match, Sewanee fell behind quickly when Taylor Winslow scored with just over a minute off the clock.
Later in the half, the Tigers rallied back when Jamie Samociuk evened the score at 1-1 with a goal in the 27th minute.
Unfortunately, for Sewanee, Millsaps added one final goal, as Kaleigh Redhead fired in the game-winner from just outside the box.
Overall, Sewanee outshot the Majors 13-7. Individually, Samociuk led all players with five attempts while Bobbe Chaffin, Ellie Quinn, and Goodman each finished with two shots.
