women's lacrosse team remains unbeaten in the SCAC with an
18-4 victory over Millsaps in Jackson, Mississippi. Nine different players scored
goals for Sewanee as they outshot the Majors 38-8 in their third
straight conference win. With the win, the Tigers move to 11-5
overall and 3-0 in conference play.
Sewanee
scored the first ten goals of the game and never let the Majors
back in the contest.
The Tigers were paced by sophomore Molly Arnold with four goals,
junior Meg Welton with three goals and three assists, and senior
Megan Velie with three goals and one assist. Junior Mary Grace Bowring and
freshman Caitlin-Jean
Juricic added two goals each, while freshman Shelby Koebley,
freshman Chelsea Staunton, and senior Alison Bland had one goal

Carpenter recorded a team-high five assists and one goal for the
Tigers.
Sewanee
picked up 19 ground balls as a team, and held the Majors to just 6
of 18 clears.
In
goal for the Tigers, junior Amy Nusbaum ended the game with zero
goals scored against, while sophomore Theresa Monypeny recorded one
save for Sewanee in the second half.
