ADRIAN, Mich. – Sewanee played women's lacrosse at Adrian Friday and after falling
back 7-4 at the half, outscored the Bulldogs 10-9 in the second. The Tiger rally was cut short,
though and Adrian came away with the 16-14 win.
Sewanee outshot Adrian 20-18 and also had the edge in ground balls for the game 20-18.
The Tigers also only committed 18 fouls compared to 31 for the Bulldogs and turned the ball
over 17 times compared to 29 for Adrian.
Megan Welton (Germantown, Tenn., Houston)
led the Tigers with five goals.
Carly Grimm (South Salem, N.Y., John Jay) and
Steffi
Renninger (Darnestown, Md., Sidwell Friends) each scored three. Rachel Johnston scored
six for the Bulldogs.
Sewanee is 1-3 and will play at Trine in Angola, Indiana on Sunday. Adrian is 4-3 so far in 2009.
