LaGrange, Ga. – Sewanee got out to a lead on LaGrange in LaGrange on Saturday, but the host team logged a four-run ninth to edge out Sewanee 6-5.
Trey Axe (Austin, Texas, St. Andrew's) highlighted Sewanee's effort with a 5-5 performance at the plate.
Andrew Rowan (Nashville, Tenn., Father Ryan) took the loss for Sewanee, while starter
Greg Bartleski (Charlottesville, Va., Covenant) pitched six innings and got five strikeouts. JJ Martone earned the win in relief for LaGrange. Sewanee outhit Lagrange 17-12 on the day.
Sewanee falls to 0-3 and will play at LaGrange again on Sunday before hosting Blackburn next weekend at Montgomery Field.
