Field Hockey picked third in CFHC Preseason Poll

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee has been picked third in the Collegiate Field Hockey Conference (CFHC) preseason poll, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.

The Tigers received 22 points, finishing behind defending CFHC champion Mary Washington, which received four first-place votes and 29 points, and Rhodes, which received two first-place votes and 27 points.

Sewanee returns all three of its 2025 CFHC All-Conference selections, including first-team selections Shepard Ramsey and Kennedy Harcourt and second-team selection Catherine Crane. The Tigers are coming off a 9-9 season and a 2-3 conference record. Sewanee advanced to the semifinals of the CFHC Tournament before falling to Mary Washington.

Voting is conducted among the CFHC's six head coaches. The 2026 CFHC Championship is scheduled for Nov. 5-8 in Mequon, Wis., and will be hosted by Concordia University. The 2026 season also marks the first year the CFHC will receive an automatic qualifier to the NCAA Championship.
