Stilz, Catapano both shoot 75, Tigers move up to 10th at Jekyll Island

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Senior Jane Stilz and freshman Natalie Catapano each carded rounds of three-over 75 and Sewanee had four players shoot in the 70's on the second day of the Jekyll Island Women's Intercollegiate on Saturday in Jekyll Island, Ga.
 
The Tigers moved up four spots in the team standings to 10th among 24 teams, shooting 14 strokes better in the second round. The final round begins Sunday morning. Sewanee's two-round total of 630 trails Babson College by one shot and is five back of Randolph-Macon.
 
All of the Sewanee players started their rounds at No. 1 on the Great Dunes Course at Jekyll Island Golf Club, with Catapano recording seven pars and two bogeys on the front nine. The Pacific Palisades, Calif., native birdied No. 10 before three bogeys in the next four holes. She made par on three of the last four holes, though, with a birdie at No. 16 for a three-over 75. She has a two-day total of 155, tied for 28th.
 
Stilz registered six pars with three bogeys on the front nine. The Lexington, Ky., native bogeyed No. 10 but then collected four straight pars before a birdie at No. 15. She added another birdie on 18 for a three-over 75 and a 36-hole score of 155.
 
Junior Olivia Bentley recorded one bogey and two double bogeys in the first six holes before a birdie at No. 8. The Nashville, Tenn., native netted five pars with three bogeys and a birdie at No. 16 for a second straight round of 79 and a two-day total of 158, tied for 42nd.
 
Freshman Rachel Waters stayed away from the big scores in the second round, registering four pars and five bogeys on the front nine. The Nashville, Tenn., native added five pars, three bogeys and a birdie on the par-5 15th hole for a seven-over 79 and a 36-hole score of 164, tied for 80th.
 
Freshman Anna Claire Gibson played an up-and-down round that included four birdies, four bogeys, four doubles and six pars. The Knoxville, Tenn., native birdies holes two and eight on the front nine and 13 and 16 on the back, carding an eight-over 80 for a two-day total of 163, tied for 71st.
