SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee's
Sydney Tackett garnered her second consecutive SAA Player of the Week honor after posting five extra-base hits, four runs scored and 12 RBIs in six games for the Tigers, as announced Monday by the conference office.
The Fort Wayne, Ind., native batted .368 (7-for-19) in the six outings, including 7-for-14 over the last four contests. She posted two hits with a run scored and three RBIs in the first game at Berea College and collected a double, an inside-the-park homer and three RBIs in the second game against the Mountaineers.
Her bases-clearing double in the sixth inning broke a tie in an 8-5 win versus Wesleyan College in the first game of Sunday's doubleheader. In the second contest she recorded a double and a triple, walked three times and drove in three more runs. She registered a .478 on-base percentage and a slugging percentage of .789 during the week.
Sewanee opens conference play this weekend hosting Rhodes College starting with a 1 p.m. twinbill on Saturday.
