Sewanee tabbed eighth in SAA preseason poll

SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Southern Athletic Association released its preseason poll for the 2026-27 women's basketball season, and the Sewanee Tigers were predicted to finish eighth in the league standings, as voted by the league's coaches.

Millsaps, the reigning winners of the 2026 championship title game, was picked to win and received seven first-place votes.

Sewanee finished 9-16 with a 2-12 SAA record in 2025-26. The Tigers defeated Millsaps at home and upset Centre to end the regular season.

The Sewanee Tigers visit Trevecca on Tuesday, Nov. 3 for an exhibition game. They then open the regular season on the road in California, facing Redlands on Friday, Nov. 6. Sewanee's first home game takes place Saturday, Nov. 21 against Huntingdon College.

The SAA championship will be hosted by Maryville College Feb. 25-27.
