Carter earns Low Medal Honors, IHSA finishes sixth at Tournament of Champions

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Lily Carter took home low medal honors for Sewanee's IHSA Equestrian team as the Tigers competed in the Tournament of Chamipions in Savannah, Ga., hosted by the Savannah School of Art and Design on Saturday, Jan. 31, at the Ronald C. Waranch Equestrian Center. 

The Tigers finished the competition in sixth place with a score of 30 points, while Carter was the champion in the Low Medal class. 

Carter added a second place finish in the limit flat and fifth place result in intermediate fences. 

Emma Sameth added a second place finish in open flat and fifth in open fences. In intermediate flat, Elise Gierhart took home second and fifth in limit fences. 

Abdul Madalhi took home third in novice, while Caroline Holland added another first place finish for the Tigers in the introduction division.
