Sameth, Fioretti earn High Point Rider as IHSA wins opening show

SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Sewanee equestrian team delivered a near-perfect outing at its IHSA show this weekend, earning High Point Team honors with 45 points, just five shy of the maximum 50. The Tigers also swept the individual awards, as Emma Sameth was named High Point Rider and Isabella Fioretti earned Reserve High Point Rider, marking an impressive accomplishment for the program.

Sameth dominated the open division, capturing first place in both Open Fences and Open Flat. Fioretti added to Sewanee's success with a second-place finish in Open Fences and another runner-up ride in Intermediate Flat to secure her Reserve High Point recognition.

The Tigers' depth was on full display throughout the competition. Isabella Janovsky earned first place in Intermediate Flat and fifth in Open Fences, while Lily Carter secured first place in Intermediate Fences. Maeve Raible rode to a second-place finish in Limit Fences, and Kelly Baumgart collected a second-place ribbon in Open Flat. Elise Gierhart claimed first in Limit Flat, followed by London Eller in third.

Sewanee also excelled across the novice divisions, with Abdul Maflahi winning Pre-Novice Flat, Ariel Hornek placing third in Novice Flat, and Caroline Holland earning first place in Intro Flat.

With victories across nearly every level of competition, the Tigers showcased both talent and depth, making a strong statement with their commanding performance.
