Hannah Talbott all shot 80 on the final day of the SAA Women's Golf Championships on Sunday at Greystone Golf Club in Dickson, Tenn.
The Tigers finished third as a team with a third-round total of 316, eight strokes in front of Oglethorpe University. Burch finished 11
th individually and Stilz tied for 12
th, part of four Sewanee players in the Top 20.
Burch started the day on the first hole and birdied No. 3 before consecutive bogeys on four and five. The Elgin, S.C., native then netted seven straight pars until a bogey at No. 13. She birdied No. 15 but ended the round with three consecutive bogeys for a four-over 76 and a 54-hole score of 232, along in 11
th place.
Stilz shot 41 on the front nine on Sunday with four pars and five bogeys. The Lexington, Ky., native recorded four pars, four bogeys and her only birdie of the round at No. 14 on the back nine, shooting an eight-over par 80 for a three-day total of 237, tied for 12
th.
Nesbitt again missed a chance for a better score with two unfortunate holes. She played the first eight holes in two-over with three bogeys and a birdie at No. 4 before making a triple bogey on the par-5 ninth. The Newport Beach, Calif., native made birdies on holes 11 and 12 along with four pars to start the back nine. She ended the round with bogey-triple-bogey for a final-round 80 and a 54-hole score of 240, 17
th individually.
Talbott played the front nine in 42 with four pars, four bogeys and one double bogey. The Louisville, Ky., native was much more consistent on the back, collecting seven pars and two bogeys to finish with an 80 and a two-round total of 143.
Junior
Mary Elizabeth Jackson collected three pars, five bogeys and a birdie at No. 5 on the front nine. The Hartwell, Ga., native tallied three pars, five bogeys and a triple at No. 12 for a final-round 84 and a 54-hole score of 262, 27
th individually.
Sophomore
Olivia Bentley started the day with a triple bogey at No. 1 but registered five pars with two bogeys and a double on the remainder of the front nine. The Nashville, Tenn., native added five more pars and three bogeys, posting a third-round 87 and a three-day total of 244, along in 18
th.
