Sabrina Nesbitt each posted a 79 in the second round of the SAA Women's Golf Championships on Saturday at Greystone Golf Club in Dickson, Tenn.
The Tigers remained in third place in the team standings heading into the final round. Sewanee shot 317 as a team and is seven strokes in front of fourth-place Oglethorpe University.
Bentley carded a one-over on the back nine to begin her round, netting two bogeys and a birdie at No. 14. The Nashville, Tenn., native collected six pars with two bogeys on the front, finishing with a six-over par 78 for a 36-hole score of 157, tied for 13
th.
Stilz struggled on the back nine with five bogeys and a double but rebounded on the front. The Lexington, Ky., native recorded five pars with birdies on holes three and four. She ended the round with two straight bogeys for a seven-over 79 and a two-day total of 157, tied for 13
th.
Nesbitt shot two-over on the back nine, beginning her round with a birdie at No. 10 before registering a double and a bogey. The Newport Beach, Calif., native collected two more birdies on the front nine on holes four and eight along with one bogey but also two triple bogeys that prevented an even better score. She finished with a 79 and is tied for 17
th with a 36-hole score of 160, tied for 17th.
Sophomore
Payton Burch collected five pars with two bogeys and two doubles on the back nine. The Elgin, S.C., native had another double bogey at No. 1 but played the last eight holes in one-over with five pars, two bogeys and a birdie at No. 8, finishing with an 81 and a two-day total of 156, tied for 11
th.
Junior
Mary Elizabeth Jackson recorded three pars, three bogeys and a birdie on No. 16 on the back nine. The Hartwell, Ga., native added another birdie at No. 2 and posted two pars and five bogeys on the front for a second-round 86. She is 26
th individually.
Senior
Hannah Talbott did not play in the first round because of comps but posted an 83 on Saturday. The Louisville, Ky., native tallied five pars with three bogeys and a double on the back nine. She registered four more pars, four bogeys and a double on the front.
