Carter, Sameth earn High Point Rider honors as Tigers win home IHSA Show

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Lily Carter and Emma Sameth tied for High Point Rider honors as the Sewanee equestrian team won the Zone 5, Region 1 IHSA Show on Saturday morning with 38 points.

Sewanee swept the Open Fences division, as Isabella Fioretti took home first place, Sameth finished second, and Piper Nelson placed third, and Isabella Janovky took home fourth.

In Intermediate Fences, Carter earned a runner-up finish, while Isabelle Gentle added a second-place showing in Limit Fences.

Sewanee continued its strong performance on the flat, as Sameth won Open Flat, followed by Campbell Flanagan in fourth and Janovsky in sixth. Elise Gearhart captured first in Intermediate Flat, and Carter also claimed a win in Limit Flat.

In Novice Flat, Ronan Goff placed third and Lauren Scanlon finished sixth. Anne Burg earned fourth in Pre-Novice Flat, while Isabela Cancado placed fifth in the Introductory division.

Sewanee will host the second day of the Zone 5, Region 1 Show on Sunday, beginning at 8:30 a.m.
