SEWANEE, Tenn. – Freshman
Natalie Catapano earned SAA Women's Golfer Athlete of the Week honors Wednesday after tying for fifth individually and setting a school single-round record this week at the Golfweek Fall Classic at The Links at Sandestin in Destin, Fla.
The Pacific Palisades, Calif., carded a bogey-free, five-under par 67 in the second round of the tournament, netting five birdies. She tied for fifth individually and helped the Tigers to a sixth-place showing in the 24-team event.
Catapano tied the school single-round record of 68 at the Montgomery Intercollegiate in September before breaking that mark this week. She currently has a scoring average of 73.3 over seven rounds this fall.
Sewanee also set a team scoring record in the second round with a 292 team score, the lowest single round total in program history. The Tigers play again next week at the Historic Triangle Invitational at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Va.
