The Spartanburg, S.C. native tied the record with a long triple at the end of the half and became the new record-holder with a shot from the top of the key early in the fourth quarter.
Becoming the third player to 80 shots made from downtown in league history, she is the first to do it since Alyssa Owens of Rhodes in 2020.
Now with 82 on the year, the sophomore is one away from tying the SAA record set by Mel McLean from Berry in 2014 (83).
DOUBLE-DOUBLE KAYLA: Junior
Kayla Antoine is sitting in the top-five in both points per game (15.5) and rebounds per game (9.8) entering the postseason.
In 25 games this season, the Nashville, Tenn. native has recorded 10 double-doubles this season.
Already with 569 points in her career, she is less than 100 rebounds away from 500 boards.
BEEN A MINUTE: Three of Sewanee's 84 meetings with Centre have come in the postseason. However, these two teams have not met in the SAA Tournament, let alone in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Tournament when the teams were members from 1992-2012.
According to acquired records, Sewanee and Centre will meet in a postseason game for the first time since 1987 (or 36 years) as a part of the Women's Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Playing at home, the Colonels defeated the Tigers, 67-30.
The two teams also met in the WIAC Tournament in 1985, where the Colonels eeked out a 54-53 win over the Tigers on Feb. 21.
