Field Hockey Falls at Roanoke

Box Score Salem, VA: On Saturday, September 24th, the University of the South's Field Hockey team traveled to Salem, Virginia to take on Roanoke in non conference action. The Tigers fell to the Maroons 7-0 after 60 minutes of action.

INSIDE THE MATCH UP: 
Roanoke (5-2) 7, Sewanee (0-3) 0

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Maroons got on the board first, putting one home six minutes into the game. 
- Claire Damare registered four of her 11 saves in the first quarter. 
- Roanoke would score again in the second quarter to make it 2-0 at halftime. 
- A two and three goal third and fourth quarter would push the score to 7-0.
- Both Sewanee shots taken were on goal, with Eve Bournias and Sydney Simpson firing shots on goal.

KEY SEWANEE STATISTICS:
- Simpson and Bournias both registered shots on goal.
- Damare finished with 11 saves.

KEY ROANOKE STATISTICS:
- Hope Keller and Lindsey Keyes both score twice.
