Box Score Salem, Virginia: On Saturday, September 11th, the University of the South's Women's Soccer team took on the Maroons of Roanoke in the final game of the Roanoke Invitational. A stout defensive effort by both sides ended with Roanoke coming away with a 1-0 win.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Roanoke came out firing on offense, but
Abby Jones stood tall in the goal for the Tigers and Kate Thompson led a strong Sewanne back line that held the Maroons scoreless in the first half.Â
- Sewanee was out shot 9-0 in the first half, but five saves by Jones in the half would keep the score at 0-0.
- Less than 10 minutes into the second half, Roanoke would sneak one past Jones to take the lead.
- Sewanee would generate more offense in the second half, taking eight shots and putting four of them on goal.Â

Kylene Monaghan led the Tigers in shots with three, with two of those being on frame.Â
- A shot by
Brianna Fee with less than two minutes left was close to an equalizer, but the shot was unable to find the back of the net.
