SEWANEE, Tenn. - The University of the South and Hendrix College have announced that the two teams will play each other in a non-conference game on their bye week. The Tigers and the Warriors will battle in Conway, Ark. at Young-Wise Memorial Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 25 at 1 p.m.
The addition comes after the two teams lost their Week 1 contests due to COVID-19 this past weekend. Originally, Sewanee was scheduled to travel to St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minn., and Hendrix was to travel to Austin College in Sherman, Texas.
This September meeting will be the first of two between the Tigers and the Warriors, with the meeting in Conway being a non-conference tilt. Hendrix will travel to the Domain in Week 11 on Nov. 13 in the regular season finale, and that will remain the conference game.
Sewanee will travel to Lexington, Va. for its first game of the 2021 season on Saturday against Washington and Lee.
