Mixon named SAA Offensive Athlete of the Week

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee sophomore Barton Mixon has been named Southern Athletic Association Offensive Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday morning.

Mixon delivered a standout performance in Sewanee's road matchup at Brevard, rushing for 174 yards and a touchdown on 27 carries while averaging 6.4 yards per carry. The Savannah, Ga., native also added 30 receiving yards on seven catches, finishing with more than 200 all-purpose yards. He scored on a five-yard touchdown run, accounting for Sewanee's first touchdown of the afternoon. Mixon consistently provided explosive plays for the Tigers, including rushing gains of 21 yards, 21 yards, and 20 yards.

Sewanee will host North Carolina Wesleyan on Saturday with a 1 p.m. kickoff.
