Box Score DECATUR, Ga. - The Sewanee women's basketball team captured its first win of the 2018-19 season with a 54-47 victory over Agnes Scott in the final day of the Agnes Scott Tip-Off Classic Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Scotties started the contest on a 5-0 run in the first 3:30 of the contest, and it took the Tigers offense to get moving early.
-After Agnes Scott scored with 7:29 left in the period, that would be the last time the home team would score in the period. Sewanee finished the period on a 13-0 run.
-The Tigers began to pull away in the second quarter. With Sewanee leading 21-19 with 2:18 left in the opening half, the Tigers went on a 9-0 run to end the period to take a 30-19 lead into the locker room.
-Despite an 18-11 third quarter, the Scotties tried to get back in the contest late. However, the home team got the contest down to a seven-point contest with 1:25 left, but the Tigers scored the final five points to secure the win.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Off the bench, Kinsley Logan drained 21 points, all coming from beyond the arc. Adding three steals and assists each, the freshman went 7-of-10 from 3-point range. The Lynchburg, Tenn. native was named to the All-Classic Team.
-Bella Taylor added 11 points, while Katie Roth dished out five assists.
-Bella Bombassi corralled eight boards in 20 minutes off the bench.
AGNES SCOTT KEY STATISTICS
-Kalin Smith scored 17, while Garis Grant posted 12 rebounds and 10 points to lead the Scotties.
UP NEXT
Sewanee will open the home schedule Tuesday night with a non-conference showdown against Berea. Tip is scheduled for 6 p.m. inside Juhan Gymnasium.
