Tigers get a complete team effort in win over Agnes Scott

SEWANEE, Tenn. (Nov. 24, 2015) – Behind a season-high shooting percentage and forced turnovers, the Sewanee women's basketball team rolled past visiting Agnes Scott 90-48, Tuesday, inside Juhan Gymnasium.

The Tigers (4-2) made 60 percent of their attempts, which included a season-high 43.5 percent of their three-point shots. Additionally, Sewanee forced the Scotties into 28 turnovers, which led to 46 points.

Tuesday marked the first game this season that Sewanee has made over 35 percent of its attempts. In fact, the Tigers have now improved their shooting percentage in each of the past two games.

Along with the team success, individually all 12 players scored at least two points with freshman Corey Caulder leading the way with a game-high 16.

Sewanee built its lead early in the contest as the Tigers outscored Agnes Scott, 27-12, in the first quarter. By halftime, the Tigers led by 21, 48-27.

In the second half, Sewanee never let up. The Tigers outscored the Scotties by 14 in the third quarter and by seven the final 10 minutes of the game.

Along with Caulder, four other players finished in double figures. Senior Jamie Chauvin finished with 13 points while junior Savannah Rose and freshman Rebecca Lobach added 11 each.

Additionally, freshman Katie Wayne pitched in 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting. In fact, Wayne has now scored in double figures three straight games.

Overall, Hannah McCormack and Ali Chastenet also posted season-high points against Agnes Scott.

Guard Adriana Figueroa led Agnes Scott with a team-high 12 points. All 12 points were scored from outside the three-point arc.

Sewanee will take a week off before returning to action December 1st against Emory. That contest is scheduled to tip-off at 6:00 p.m., inside Juhan Gymnasium.
