Morrison leads Sewanee to a 1-0 win at Bryan

DAYTON, Tenn. (Sept. 18, 2013) – A first-half goal by freshman Katie Morrison led the Sewanee women's soccer team to a 1-0 win at Bryan College Tuesday evening.

With the win, the Tigers improved their record to 5-1-1.

In the 26th minute, Morrison netted the game-winner off a pass from junior Jamie Samociuk.

With the goal, Morrison fired home her second goal of the season while Samociuk added her fourth assist of the season.

Overall, Sewanee fired 17 shots, including 11 on goal. Additionally, the Tigers had six corner kicks to Bryan's one.

Defensively, Sewanee limited Bryan to only four shots while keeper Olivia Glascoe finished with two saves.

After a four straight road matches, the Tigers will open a four-match homestand with a 7:30 p.m. contest Thursday at Puett Field.
