Despite leading 25-18 at halftime, the Sewanee women's basketball team dropped a 63-56 decision to Oakwood Tuesday night.
Dana Middleton led the Tigers with 15 points, while
Logan Miller chipped in 12 and
Claire Elliott added 10.
Middleton's 15 gave her her seventh straight double-digit outing. She added eight rebounds and three steals in the effort.
Alex Ginsburg led Sewanee with ten rebounds. Elliott dished out four assists on the night.
Paige Lowe finished with nine points for the Tigers.
As a team, Sewanee finished the night 20 of 52 from the field and 4 of 16 from the 3-point line. The Tigers went 12 of 23 from the free throw line. Oakwood ended the game 23 of 69 from the floor, 7 of 15 from beyond the arc and 10 of 22 from the charity stripe. The hosts held a 46-34 edge in rebouding and a 10-19 edge in turnovers.
Sewanee falls to 2-20 on the year with the loss. The Tigers move on to face Centre College in a road SCAC battle at 6 p.m. (EST) Friday night.
